Event: Paul Bunyan Fest  Wednesday August 13th volunteers are needed to help set up and serve food and beverages and also for clean up. The Paul Bunyan Fest is from 10:45am  to 1pm and 12:45pm thru 3pm. Set up times are 8am to 10:30am and Clean up time is 2pm to 4pm. The Paul Bunyan Roast Cook-Off is looking for chef's from area businesses to enter. Your Roast wil be judged at the Paul Bunyan Fest and served to the public. Call Kim at the Chamber for further information for help and Chef entries

Cole is a 3 year old little boy who has been a blessing to his parents Aaron & Moireen Routsala. He recently has been diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer called Adrenocortical Carcinoma. All monies fron this event will be placed into a fund for medical, travel, lodging and other expenses the family has accquired. Cole is currently in Marshfield receiving treatments for his cancer.

Event: "Loggers Pancake Breakfast" 

ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT!!!!!!!

Pancake Breakfast on Saturday Aug 23rd from 8am to11am at the Presque Isle Community center. Pancakes, Sausage and Eggs. Your choice of beverages: Coffee, milk or juice. Cost for the meal $7 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 12 yrs. Children under 5 are free. In addition, all children under 16 who attend the breakfast with a parent are eligible to win one of two $50 educational savings bonds. Drawing for the bonds takes place at the end of the  breakfast. Winners need not be present to win. All proceeds go to local scholarships, other community projects, and Lions international programs. the Loggers pancake breakfast was originally started by the Presque Isle Chamber of Commerce as a part of the Fosterville/Winegar/Presque Isle Centennial Celebration of our logging heritage. The Lions Club is pleased to carry on aprt of that heritage, Please join us for a morning of good food and fun. See you there!

Event: 5th Annual Cy Justinak Memorial Golf Tournament 

5th Annual Ironwood Red Devil Golf Team "Cy Justinak Memorial" tournament. Saturday Aug 23rd (In case of rain Aug 24th Sunday).  At The Gogebic Country Club Golf Course,  4 person "Texas Scramble" 18 holes, 10am shotgun start. 3 divisions(mens, womens, open/mixed) $160/team, ($40 per golfer). The Campanile for the Arts presents "The Lakeland Barbershop Chorus" The ever popular Lakeland Barbershop Chorus cncert takes to the stage for it's 21st annual performance. Enjoy some good old fashion family entertainment as you listen to the men harmonize. This year the headliner quartet is Main Street Station as well as our town in house quartet, Face the Music. There will be an afterglow at the Lakeland Senior Center following the performance. Last years crew drew quite a performance, so get your tickets now for this exciting night.
